Hi, guys! My name is Natalia. Today we will speak about one holiday. But,
first of all, try to guess which one. Use the pictures and think about what holiday it is.
Let’s check your ideas. You are right,
this holiday is Easter! And today you will find out some traditions British people have.
So let’s start with our new vocabulary. Easter Bunny - Easter Bunny is like Santa,
who brings sweet eggs to children. To hop - A little bird was hopping on the roof.
Basket - There was a basket full of apples in the garden.
Easter bread - At Easter we usually cook a lot of Easter bread with my granny.
Hot cross buns - I like to eat hot cross buns with butter.
To dye - This year I am going to dye eggs in silver and gold.
Egg rolling competition - My brother always wins in our family egg rolling competition
Chocolate egg - How many chocolate eggs do you eat on Easter day?
Easter egg hunt - You never know how many eggs you can find in Easter egg hunt.

Let’s read a letter together. Hi, Natalia,
What are you up to these days? I`m sorry, I haven't written for such a long time
because I went to my grandparents during Easter holidays. I know that you are interested in
traditions of different countries, so I decided to tell you about traditions in my country.
There is a legend that Easter Bunny comes on Easter day,
hops around gardens and yards and hides chocolate eggs. In the morning children go out to find
all these chocolate eggs. It is called Easter egg hunt. It is so much fun when you run and laugh
with your friends and then eat all these sweets! Another tradition is called Morris Dance. It is
a traditional dance which is performed on Easter festivals. The dancers wear bells on their legs
and dance with sticks. My parents always take part in this dance, next year I am going to try it too.
And the tradition that I like most of all is called egg rolling competition. We gather
at a hill, bring boiled and dyed eggs with use and roll them down the hill.
The winner is an egg which rolls the farthest and doesn’t break. I love this tradition!
Which of these traditions do you like most of all? I have heard that in Ukraine
you bake very beautiful and tasty Easter cakes and bring them to church in baskets.
We also eat buns, but they are called hot cross buns. Write to me about your traditions!
